We wanted to invite you to a very special concert next Saturday, March 29th in Northfield for Paine Mountain Arts at 7:30 at the United Church right in the middle of town. Our chamber ensemble Arioso returns with a delightful program called “Notturno“: Elizabeth Reid, viola; Alison Cerutti, piano; and Linda Radtke, alto. Besides the lovely songs by Brahms , impromptus by Chopin, and Beethoven‘s Notturno, we have four, yes four!, new pieces by Vermont composers, two of which are world premieres, and three of which are women composers, for Women’s History Month:
The Scree Dragon by Lydia Busler-Blais (Montpelier)
Mother to Son by Patricia Julien (Burlington)
Romance by Jacob Morton-Black (Colchester)
Kyrie by Kathy Wonson Eddy (Braintree)
Arioso is committed to presenting work by contemporary composers at each of our programs, and this year is a real feast! We have been enjoying getting through late winter by working together on these pieces for Arioso’s 5th program, and hope to see you at the concert! Admission is by suggested donation of $12.
